AUGUST 2010

  • THROUGH AUGUST 7: THe annual Pet Photo Contest at the Ligonier Library. Stop in and vote for your favorite! Winner announced August 10.
  • AUGUST 7: The third annual Jean McIlnay Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament at Champion Lakes. Call (724) 317-3839 for details.
  • AUGUST 13: Pie baking contest with THe Ligonier Valley Education Trust. All proceeds benefit education in the valley. Call (724) 317-5471.
  • AUGUST 13: It's time for The Stroll in downtown Ligonier! A celebration of the 1950s with sidewalk sales, classic cars, dance contest and olsies band 5-9PM.
  • AUGUST 14-15: Bread Baking Demonstrations at Fort Ligonier with the Old Barracks Staff of Trenton, NJ.
  • AUGUST 14: It's a rip-roarin' good time at the Wild West Chuckwagon Review. It's held at the LIgonier Theatre - food, fun, and entertainment. Call (724) 238-6514 for details.
  • AUGUST 21: THe Memorial Walk for Ando, the police dog. Holy Trinity School parking lot at 10AM. Call (724) 238-9139 for more information.
  • AUGUST 25: Lou Stein and All That Jazz on the diamond downtown for a free lunchtime concert beginning at 1PM.
  • AUGUST 28: Concert at gthe Waterford Fairgrounds - The Clarks and Commander Cody. Gates open at 6PM.
  • AUGUST 28: Antiques on the Diamond. Vendors all around downtown Ligonier on the sidwalks with vintage items. 8AM-4PM.

 

SEPTEMBER 2010

  • SEPTEMBER 4-5: Detachment of the 60th Royal Americans camp, conduct drills, and firing muskets from noo-4PM at Fort Ligonier!
  • SEPTEMBER 18: Covenant Presbyterian Church hosts a women's retreat at Antiochan Village. Call (724) 238-3657 or (724) 238-6553 weekdays after 5PM.

 

OCTOBER 2010

  • OCTOBER 9-10: Fort Ligonier Days artillary demonstrations at 1:30PM and 3:30PM followed by battle reanctments at 4PM both days.
  • OCTOBER 23: Halloween Monster Bash Movie Marathon at the Ligonier Theatre. Begins at noon. Seven classic horror movies. Also shop monster movie vendors and movie star guests at intermissions. Guest stars include Charles Herbert from 13 GHOSTS and THE FLY. Plus from the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD - John Russo (screenwriter), Russ Streiner (played "Johnny"), and George Kosana (The Sheriff). Movies include: THE FLY, 13 GHOSTS, CARNIVAL OF SOULS, WHITE ZOMBIE, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL, DEMENTIA 13 and, of course a midnight show of the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. NOVEMBER 2010

  • LIGONIER LIBRARY RE-READABLES USED BOOK STORE is open at the Library. Books, CDs, DVDs, and more.
